Sharing of Standard Mailboxes

The Risk

Sharing mailboxes is a standard business requirement. However, directly sharing the login credentials of a full user mailbox anonymously leaves the business vulnerable.

• Unnecessary sharing and management of credentials.

• Lack of visibility and audit of which user is communicating of performing mailbox administration.

The Solution

Use a Shared Mailbox instead. Identify users who need to “send as” or have “full access” to the shared account. Then, remove the (anonymous) login.
